Steven C. Leggett, is a General Motors Corporation Supplier Process Development Engineer.
In his current position, Mr. Leggett is responsible for the Quality and Continuous Improvement of Systemic Problem Suppliers.
Steve had Global Quality Creativity Team responsibility for suppliers of Brake Systems. He has been and is active in the development of quality publications by theAutomotive Industry Action Group (AIAG).
Steve has written and authored articles in numerous quality publications. He is the co-author of the current AIAG - FMEA Manual, Third Edition and the Machinery FMEA Manual- First Edition.
Steve also Chaired the committee that developed the New AIAG-PPAP Manual, Fourth Edition, as well as a Speaker at various local and national conferences.
The American Society for Quality (ASQ), Greater Detroit Section is a big beneficiary of his volunteer spirit, as he is their Newsletter Editor, Web-Application Manager, and Assistant Vice Chair for the Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) refresher courses.
Steve is also a General Motors University (GMU) Instructor for Global PPAP for GM and their Suppliers; Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD & T) for GM's Supplier Quality Engineer's (SQE) and helps instruct their Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) refresher course. Steve is also a Senior Member of ASQ and the Automotive Division.
Outside of ASQ, Steve is a 2006 Michigan Quality Council (MQC) Examiner and was also an Adjunct Professor of Metrology (Quality Systems) at Macomb Community College (MCC) and has taught Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T).
He also sits on the MCC Advisory Board for the Quality Systems Technology Program. He also started the ASQ-Student Section at MCC. He is a very active lay member in his church, and is a professional Clown and Santa. Steve's work in the Quality Profession and in the community has made a tremendous impact in many people's lives.
